When we heard that the iPhone X would open with Face ID,Telugu Archives we predicted that people might get a little bit nervous. As it turns out, "a little" was a massive understatement.
As was revealed at Tuesday's Apple event, the iPhone X will be unlocked by facial recognition, rather than the fingerprint sensors of iPhones past. In the wake of the Equifax hack, iPhone users are understandably concerned for their security.
If you're afraid of a questionable character unlocking your phone with your face while you're sleeping, you're not alone. It's unlikely, as Face ID on the iPhone X requires the person's eyes to be open, but the idea alone is apparently enough of a worldwide concern that a vendor on Taobao, an online shopping website similar to Amazon, is selling "safety sleeping masks" specifically for the purpose of protecting your iPhone's security.
SEE ALSO: Why the iPhone X's facial recognition could be a privacy disasterThe website offers a variety of possibilities to suit all levels of paranoia.
The most stylish among us may opt for a basic eye mask, which comes in four different colors, and is slightly convex to give your eyes breathing room. "Tired, sleepy, I cover you," the website assures us.
Those who want more protection can buy masks that cover their full heads, but leave openings for the eyes and mouth. We have no idea why the one with eyeholes is so much more expensive--maybe the red color for your face is included.
If you're really hardcore, this mask will shield you (and your phone) entirely from the world.
And if you've always wanted to look like an alien, don't worry, they've got you covered too.
The masks range between $3 and $160, and you can get them shipped to most countries. Or you could just, you know, set a numeric passcode.
Updated 9/16 to include Apple's official word that Face ID requires the user's eyes to be open.
