Bill Young,Ask Me What You Want (2024) a corporate pilot, travels all the time. He sees a lot of striking hotel carpets. And now, thanks to his delightful Instagram, you can see them too.
Bill's account, @myhotelcarpet, skyrocketed from 82 to literally hundreds of thousands of followers after his daughter Jill called for it to go viral on Twitter last Saturday. The page is dedicated to all the hotel carpets Bill sees on his travels, whether they're patterned with muted stripes or wild jewel-tone paisley.

We'll put it clearly: this account rules and it deserves to be famous. The colors! The patterns! This loopy little squiggle print! Each new post is a simple, inoffensive delight.

So how did this delightful Instagram come to fruition? Jill told Mashable via Twitter DM that Bill decided to make the account after he'd already been posting a few carpet shots on his photography Instagram.
"My mom had the idea for him to make a separate account," she said. Good thing, too -- the quilted look of the main page is part of what makes it so charming.

In case you were wondering, Jill's favorite carpet so far is this funky selection from a hotel near the Los Angeles airport.
