Curtis first played Laurie Strode in the 1978 film Halloween. In the movie, midwestern teenager Laurie is stalked on Halloween by Michael Myers who has escaped from a sanitarium 15 years after he murdered his sister. In the sequel, it's revealed they're siblings.
Fans are VERY excited about Curtis's return to the series.

This will be the fifth time Curtis has played Laurie in the Halloweenfranchise. She has played Michael Myer's favorite target once per decade since 1978. The actress's voice can also be heard as the curfew announcer and telephone operator in 1982's Halloween III: Season of the Witch, according to her IMDB page.
Although it has been 15 years since Curtis's last Halloween film, she hasn't been a stranger to horror. She starred as Dean Cathy Munsch in the campy horror TV series Scream Queens for two seasons until its cancellation in 2017. The show paid homage to horror tropes and featured Curtis alongside a new generation of "scream queens," including Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande, Billie Lourd, and Abigail Breslin.

We last saw Laurie Strode in the 2002 film Halloween: Resurrection. After having her own sanity questioned, Laurie confronts Michael again. This time, however, Michael finally achieves his sinister mission when he stabs Laurie in the back and sends her plunging to her apparent death.
Fans wonder where the new film will pick up in the Halloween cannon and if Laurie Strode is just as evasive of death as Michael Myers.
The original film's director John Carpenter will return as an executive producer and creative consultant on the franchise's 2018 installment Halloween. Jason Blum, producer of recent horror hits Get Outand The Purgeand the Paranormal Activity franchises, and Malek Akkad of Trancas International Films, which has produced the Halloween series since the beginning, will produce the new movie, which was written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride.
Horror fans can expect to be scared silly by the series one last time just over a year from now.
