We're not sure about you, professor religion and eroticism atlanta but ever since we got a taste of that sweet, sweet dragon combat in Game of Thronesepisode 4, "The Spoils of War," we can't stop itching for more fire and blood action.
Luckily a Reddit theory, backed by both book and show evidence, is here to present a compelling case for another epic demonstration of dragon combat in episode 6. And if it comes true, it'll make that whole turning-the-Lannister-army-into-literal-ash thing look like child's play by comparison.
SEE ALSO: Detail in 'Game of Thrones' Episode 6 trailer hints at a chilling White Walker revealThe theory predicts that Dany will finally go North in this Sunday's episode to swoop in and save whoever among Westeros' Magnificent Seven survives. And I mean, judging from the promos, our ragtag team is gonna need someone'shelp if they hope to walk out of that hornet's nest of White Walkers alive.
This theory points to some key prophecies that book and show fans will recognize, the first coming from the visions Dany saw in the House of the Undying in Season 2.
But a commenter on the post was the one who really solidified the theory for us, reminding everyone of one of Game of Thrones' most well-known Daenerys-related prophecies:
And the theory is more than just some really reallyrad stuff we want to see happen. Aside from the canonical evidence, there are also practical reasons for why something like this would be narratively likely.
For one, with only eight more episodes totalin the entire series (the two remaining in Season 7, plus the six we're getting from Season 8), we're running out of time to have those visions come true. Which means, we're definitely going to see Dany in the North. Soon.
But wait, you might be saying, wouldn't all the trailers for Season 7 hint at something as epic as the dragon vs. White Walker showdown we've all been dying to see?
Well, no. They'd actually do the exact opposite.
SEE ALSO: How many lies are the 'Game of Thrones' Season 7 trailers telling us?The showrunners are known to play with their audience's expectations in order to deliver big twists. The shocking Battle at Hardhome in Season 5 came out of nowhere for exactly that reason; it's far more satisfying for viewers if the writers keep those big, game-changing developments under wraps -- like the way the entire cast had to spend almost a year lying to press to maintain the illusion that Jon Snow was dead for good before episode 2 of Season 6 aired.
And while the trailer for this Sunday's episode doesn't hint at any more dragon badassery, it does feature a brief shot of Dany looking out of the windows at Dragonstone, while Tyrion gives her a concerned glance -- like he knows she might be tempted to head off and offer some assistance to her two boos, Jon Snow and Jorah Mormont, who are walking into the icy jaws of death as we speak.
Also, don't think we missed the way Dany practically teared up when Jon volunteered to go, and made straight up googly eyes at him as they parted ways. Let's just say she'll have lots of motivation to save both Jorah and her new King of the North.
And -- just to satisfy all the shippers out there -- it wouldn't be the first time Jon Snow got it on with a woman who has been "kissed by fire" who saved him beyond the wall.
So we don't know about you, but we'll be screaming "Dracarys" at our TV screens this Sunday and hoping for the best.
