In a world still reeling from the news of Brad Pitt and Sisters SlaveAngelina Jolie's impending divorce (why God?!), it's not much comfort to learn that even the family's closest friends were totally unaware of it.
George Clooney was being interviewed by CNN while at a UN roundtable discussing the refugee crisis Tuesday. When the inevitable question about the power couple's divorce came up, Clooney was as taken aback as the rest of the world.

His reaction to the news seemed to be one of genuine sadness and concern for the family. "I didn't know that. Wow."
"I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that," he said. "This is the first I've heard of it."

Clooney and Pitt have been tight as as can be since they filmed Ocean's Eleventogether back in 2001.
