LOS ANGELES -- There's good news and gemma sex blogger videosbad news for fans of FX's The Strain: The show has just been renewed for Season 4, but the cable network also announced that the fourth season will be the vampire thriller's last.
The final season will debut in summer 2017.
Executive produced by Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, the series is currently airing its third season on Sunday nights at 10 p.m. The Strainis based on the trilogy of novels by del Toro and Hogan.
The show is not being "cancelled," its creators insist -- in a statement, Cuse notes that the series was originally envisioned to last for three seasons, but was expanded to a fourth to properly conclude the story.
"It is a true joy to work at FX where creative intentions always come first," said Cuse. "Our original plan was for the series to last three years. Once we began telling that story it expanded to be more. After finishing the writing on Season 3, Guillermo, Chuck and I looked at our remaining story and felt the best version could be told in one more season. We have a fantastic plan for an exciting and climatic Season 4. We are deeply grateful to FX for supporting our vision and for allowing us to end the show on our own timetable."
The Strainstars Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones, Samantha Mathis and Joaquín Cosío.
