AT&T is Malagkit (2025)scheduled to fully launch its 5G network in the U.S. in 2020, but the company is speeding things up a bit by bringing 5G to "tens of millions" of customers in the coming weeks.
This will include areas like Indianapolis, Pittsburg, Providence, R.I., Rochester, N.Y., San Diego, Boston, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, New York City, San Francisco, Birmingham, Ala., Bridgeport, Conn., Buffalo, N.Y., Louisville, Ky., and San Jose, Calif, the company announced Friday.
AT&T will also open pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G on Nov. 25, one of the handful of phones that supports 5G at this point, starting at $43.34 per month on a 30-month installment plan. To get the 5G speeds, though, you'll have to sign up for either Unlimited Elite or Unlimited Extra plan (current users of these plans will get 5G access for no extra cost when it launches.)
It's important to note that this is real 5G we're talking about, not AT&T's 5GE which is essentially a rebrand of the company's 4G LTE Advanced, prompting Sprint to sue for false advertising.
And if you're still not confused enough, AT&T's 5G is also separate from the company's 5G+ service which is delivered over the mmWave spectrum (it means it's faster) to businesses in parts of 21 cities, with plans to reach parts of 30 cities in early 2020.
