SEE ALSO: Meet macOS: Here's all the ways your Mac will completely change this fallThe update -- Apple's first to be released under the new macOS moniker -- marks Siri's desktop debut. It also brings better multitasking features, a new universal clipboard and improvements to existing apps like Photos and Maps.
If you want to download it, you can grab it directly from the Mac App Store. As always, it's a good idea to make sure your computer is backed up first -- just in case. Once you've checked that your backups are up to date, you can download the update and run the installer as you normally would.

MacOS Sierra is a notable update — even if you don't use Siri. One major theme is that it helps all your Apple devices -- iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac -- work together. You'll be able to unlock your Mac using your Apple Watch, for example, and you can copy and paste text seamlessly between your iPhone and Mac.
We'll have a full review of the new operating system soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out our initial impressions from earlier this year.
