A Miami Marlins game was delayed briefly Tuesday night when an unexpected visitor decided to join the game: a lone gray cat running across the field.

The Marlins dubbed the mysterious new player "RallyCat" and tweeted updates about its status throughout the game.

And as RallyCat demonstrated, the life of a professional sports cat doesn't involve a lot of rest.
During the game, the cat hid itself under an outfield wall before being spooked by a stadium employee and eventually scaling an animatronic home run statue in center field like it was Ken Griffey Jr. or something.
According to the Marlins' Twitter account, the cat was eventually rescued, but escaped again.
Update: We have suspended use of our home run sculpture for the time being & are monitoring #RallyCat, who appears to be safe at the moment.

Update: Upon being rescued safely, #RallyCat’s elusiveness persisted, and it again ran away – this time into the night. Rally on, #RallyCat! pic.twitter.com/ZbkgDpdbjr

The Marlins won the game, their home opener, by a score of 8-4 against the Atlanta Braves. The obvious cause of the victory is of course RallyCat, but Marcell Ozuna's two home runs and six RBIs may have helped as well.
We hope free agency treats you well, RallyCat.
