Baidu has launched an AI social product called SynClub in Hong Kong and Rapsa (2025)Japan, among other places. This product incorporates Baidu’s latest AI technology, allowing users to connect with AI characters and interact with them. Users can engage in conversations with their AI friends on topics related to personal lives and private feelings, including things they may have never shared with others before, according to a statement on the new service from Baidu. Over time, the AI personas in SynClub, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, learn users’ habits, preferences, and unique characteristics. [TechPlanet, in Chinese]
