UPDATE: Sept. 10,Chilli and Banana 2018, 2:08 p.m. EDT The article has been updated with some additional details on the game's rules.
Finally, a way to experience Fortnitefrom the safety of the great offline.
Monopoly: Fortnite Editioncombines the world of Fortnite: Battle Royaleand the classic board game Monopolyfor a new take on an old favorite, landing in stores beginning Oct. 1.
The board looks pretty similar to your standard Monopolysetup, except the classic Manhattan properties have been replaced with locations pulled right from Fortnite's infamous island like Titled Towers, Tomato Town, and Haunted Hills.
Instead of little tokens, players will get to pick their favorite Fortnitecharacter skin to control as they move around the board. Players get to roll action die to damage their opponents, build a wall, or get a health pack. This game isn't just about property.
The storm cards work sort of similarly to the ever-enclosing deadly storm that adds to the intensity of Fortnite: Battle Royale. When drawn, storm cards take up pieces of realty on the board so there's less space to play, bottlenecking the players into specific areas only.
For Fortnitefans who are looking for a 100-player version of Monopoly, you may have to create some house rules to accommodate that madness. Also, good luck trying to get 100 people to play a single game of Monopoly.
