Former president Barack Obama has been making random steps back into the public eye after leaving the White House,Ireland but now the ex-prez is returning to his community roots with a new leadership summit.

The Obama Foundation Summit will unfold in — where else? — Chicago on October 31 and November 1, in which:
...hundreds of leaders from around the world will come together to exchange ideas, explore creative solutions to common problems, and experience civic art, technology, and music from around the world.
Civic leaders from around the world can apply to attend the summit at the Foundation's website.
In addition to the summit, the Foundation also recently announced its first-ever fellowship, aimed at supporting "civic innovators."
Our two-year, non-residential Fellowship will offer hands-on training, resources, and leadership development. Fellows will also participate in four multi-day gatherings where they will collaborate with each other, connect with potential partners, and collectively push their work forward. Throughout the program, each Fellow will pursue a personalized plan to leverage Fellowship resources to take their work to the next level.
While Obama hasn't been silent or invisible since Donald Trump was inaugurated — writing response to Charlottesville and Trump's fight to roll-back health care, making appearances and speeches — these new steps are part of a new wave of action from the Foundation.
There are two other initiatives being enacted in the coming months, as well. Obama's "My Brother's Keeper" Alliance will officially move to become part of the Foundation.
And they group will begin "Obama Foundation Training Days," an initiative that appears to be something of a community advocacy training for young folks, ages 18 to 24. The first three days are scheduled for Chicago, Tempe, and Boston.
Where this goes next is anyone's guess, but it's clear Obama doesn't intend to sit on the sidelines as the chaos of the Trump Era continues to unfold.
