The nominees for the 93rd Academy Awards were announced from London on Monday morning by Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Nick Jonas, including awards-circuit darlings like The Trial of the Chicago 7, Judas and the Black Messiah, and Minari, another posthumous nomination for Chadwick Boseman, and a lot of love for the Borat sequel.
For the first time, the Best Director category includes two women: Promising Young Woman's Emerald Fennell and Nomadland's Chloe Zhao (sadly no Regina King). Audience favorites like Eurovisionand Over the Moonpopped up in other categories as well.
